Our story
What is Fumpa?
Dr Byron Walmsley designed the first Fumpa, and all later versions, to be the most accurate and reliable electric bike pumps in the world. The original Fumpa was revolutionary: combining a high-quality miniature air compressor with a USB-rechargeable battery and digital gauge. Fumpa holds many patents for our products which are the still the best in the world.
Besides bikes, Fumpa pumps are used by ball-sports teams to standardise and simplify ball inflation. We also work with mobility partners to develop and produce equipment for people who use wheelchairs.
The red anodised aluminium shell with the curved underside that makes Fumpas unique also provides their tough, ergonomic housing that makes them so resilient. Components have been custom designed and manufactured from machined or cast metal blocks, with steel and brass fittings matched to highest-quality rechargeable batteries through hand-soldered circuit boards with premium electronic components. Every Fumpa is fully tested after assembly, before shipping.

The first Fumpa
Fumpa pumps don't look like they've changed a lot in the ten years we've been building them here n Melbourne.
On the inside, however, they've grown up a lot. New Fumpas have mini OLED displays, decimal-point accurate gauges, pressure presets, in-built recalibration programs and batteries you can replace yourself.
You may still find models like this one on the work benches of pro mechanics; a good Fumpa pump is a trusted tool and if looked after, can easily be a favourite for life.

Hand-made in Melbourne
Fumpa pumps are beautifully-built, rechargeable pumps made in Melbourne, by hand, by the engineers who invented USB-rechargeable pumps a decade ago.
USB-C rechargeable, Fumpa pumps come in sizes suitable for workshop benches, backpacks, caravan cupboards or jersey pockets.
Solid and serious a Fumpa is not a toy!
Fully inflating multiple tyres on a single charge accurate to decimal points... a Fumpa is a professional-grade tool, not a gimicky gadget.
Some Fumpas can even inflate tyres to 200psi.
They can also last a lifetime with replaceable batteries, seals and caps available in kits.
